Coolum Beach Things to do

 

 

It doesn’t matter if you arrive from north, south, east or west, Mount Coolum will greet you in the view of the location from a long distance. There is a place frequently visited by tourists called Tannah Street which takes you up the mountain easily. It is a magnificent and spectacular view from the top of the mountain. It gives you a broadened sight from the coast of Noosa and the North Shore and south to Old Women Island and Caloundra to the South.

 

Coolum has a fantastic swimming and surfing beach with white and sandy beaches going all the way north to Peregian and Noosa’s Sunshine beach. There are two small coves at the first and second bay that provide an incredible site for swimming and snorkeling. On sunny days these coves provide shade from the heat in the afternoon.

 

Coolum’s Surf club is positioned on the beach that gives an incomparable view for dinners, quick drinks or a fine game on the pokies. The restaurant gives a range of good Aussie grub with seafood platters and big steaks.  Usually on weekends the club invites a live band or DJ to please the crowd.

 

Golf courses are set up at the well-known Coolum Hyatt Australian PGA Course, Mount Coolum’s course and the new Perigian Springs golf course. Competitions and other events are held all the time to the public. The clubs and carts are available at the clubhouse that can easily be rented.

 

 

The Coolum provides a wide variety of resorts, from the ones up high with a spectacular view to those which are just by the beach. Resort accommodation may differ charge from $70 per night at the Coolum motel up to $1,500 per night in the ambassador houses at the Hyatt Coolum.

The rocky cut up outcrop close to the first and second bay provides a great fishing spot to hook up your fishing line. You can enjoy the pleasant view while you are on it. The Tailor and Jew can be targets as the occasional snapper and cod. The headlands exposed to the wind are admired in a light breezy weather. Like the place down the scrub road and towards Point Arkwright and Yaroomba rocks. Surfing places such as Stumers Creek is also good for beach fishing with tailor, dart, whiting, Sea Bream, Tar whine and flathead.

 

Sky divers also often land at Stumers Creek. Ramblers skydivers offer a range of services from Tandem to solo jumps. Light aircrafts also take off from Maroochy airport for skydiving adventures.
