Peregian Things to do

Perigian Restaurants and Things to do

Peregian beach is an oasis surrounded by national parks. Lake Weyba and its national park form its boundary to the west and north forms part of the Noosa National park, while the Stumers creek wetlands to the south form its southern boundaries. The southern park offers visitors an opportunity to wander through the 3 km track of marshland, sand dunes and unpatrolled beach.

Peregian beach is home to many holiday homes, apartments and resorts and caters to a relatively quite beachside village.

Within the Peregian Village centre are a number of boutiques, cafe's, restaurants and local businesses. One of the more well known is the poets cafe. The poets cafe is one our our favourites with fresh food and healthy bread cooked by the German owners, Lollo and Robert. The dining area sits under a shaded tree within the village centre and offers a relaxing setting to wind down and drink a coffee or enjoy on of their pastries or something form the delicatessen.

Peregian Beach markets are setup on the first and third sunday of every month and start at 7 in the morning at Peregian park on Kingfisher drive. During the markets the Surf club provides breakfast and the market stalls include, art, fresh produce, delicatessen food, photography and clothing.

Following the markets an old tradition of the "Peregian originals" live music in the park is supplied by local and national bands. Recently the live music event has spurned the establishment of the "Nambour originals" in Quota Park on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

Emu Mountain offers a great opportunity to take a hike with great panoramic views over Peregian and Coolum. Its a fairly easy climb at only 72 meters but high enough to get a great view. Entrance to the track is via Havana Road just off David Low Way.

While resting up the top of Mount Emu and admiring the view you have a perfect opportunity to spot a humpback whale as they migrate past Peregian each every September and October.

If you have kids there is a skatebowl in the park just behind the dunes. Kids from 3 years and up use the park. Within the Parkland between the village and the beach and in front of the surf club is a great playground that's in the park.

Peregian holds an annual christmas eve event hosted by the Peregian surf club that includes christmas carols by the beach nippers, local entertainers and if you are lucky Santa has been known to drop in by helicopter.
